Paolo Diaz is a Peruvian media artist based in Chicago. Having lived in India for two years before settling in the U.S., his work is deeply informed by themes of inter-culturality, humanity, and material decay.
Primarily working within the cinematography department, he has worked across numerous productions, from documentaries to narrative shorts. His practice merges a social science perspective with visual storytelling, using film to explore the intersection of image, memory, and social structures.
He is currently working on ‘The Monk’s Robe’, a documentary short film exploring social conventions, religion and their contradictions.
